The U.S. Men’s basketball team will play five exhibition games in preparation for the FIBA World Cup this August; all but one will be on home soil.
The American delegation will conduct an intrasquad scrimmage on Aug. 1 in Las Vegas; engage the Brazilian national team on Aug. 16 at Chicago; then face the Dominican Republic on Aug. 20 at Madison Square Garden. The tour continues against Puerto Rico on Aug. 22 – also at the Garden; and then concludes against Slovenia in the Canary Islands just four days from the start of the tournament on Aug. 30.

This year’s edition of the World Cup will be held in Spain, and the U.S. team will play in Group C with Finland, Dominican Republic, Ukraine, and Turkey. The Americans roster of NBA talent has won the last three major international titles starting from the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the 2010 world championship in Turkey, and the 2012 London Olympics.
